Insanos MC: The World's Largest Motorcycle Club Is Quietly Changing Lives

When most people think of motorcycle clubs, they picture leather jackets, roaring engines, and open roads. The Insanos MC breaks every one of those assumptions — because behind the patches and the bikes is one of the most active charitable organizations in Latin America.

Founded in 2015 in Osasco, São Paulo, Brazil, the Insanos Moto Clube was born from an act of courage: a group of motorcyclists who broke away from authoritarian leadership in their former club and built something entirely their own. That rebellion gave rise to one of the most inspiring stories in the history of motorcycling. Today, with over 21,000 members, a presence in 61 countries, and more than 1,050 regional chapters, the Insanos MC goes far beyond the road — it is a force of social transformation.

What Is the Insanos MC?

The Insanos Moto Clube is a Brazilian motorcycle organization structured around hierarchy, discipline, brotherhood, and community service. Present in all 27 Brazilian states and dozens of countries across five continents, the club defines itself through a clear mission: to do good and help people in need by providing the basic necessities for survival.

Unlike the popular image of motorcycle clubs in movies and media, the Insanos build their reputation on pillars of mutual respect, loyalty, family, and — above all — solidarity.

"We are a club that is social at its core. Each of our chapters has an obligation to carry out at least one social action." — Claudio Ribeiro, Social Director, Insanos MC

This commitment is not a marketing tagline. It is baked into the club's internal rules: every chapter must perform community service as a condition of membership in good standing.

A Social Philosophy That Starts From Within

One of the most original aspects of the Insanos MC is that charity begins at home. Before reaching out to external communities, the club takes care of its own members first.

Members in vulnerable situations receive food support from their chapter. Those who need medical attention are helped by the broader network. Members who are unemployed benefit from the club's vast professional community — a pool of over 21,000 people across dozens of countries — to find new job opportunities.

This logic, summarized in the club's internal motto "No one gets left behind," reflects a community model that moves outward from a strong internal foundation. What the club preaches, it practices.

Social Programs and Charity Initiatives

🍽️ 1. Projeto Social Brasil — Fighting Hunger and Vulnerability

The flagship social program of the Insanos MC is the Projeto Social Brasil (Social Project Brazil), carried out under the values of freedom, brotherhood, respect, and charity. This is a continuous, structured initiative executed by all club chapters in their respective regions throughout the year.

Key activities include collecting and distributing basic food baskets, donating personal hygiene items such as soap, sanitary pads, and diapers, delivering clothing, blankets, and beds to at-risk families, and providing support to daycare centers, nursing homes, and community shelters.

In less than two years of operation, the club had already registered more than 1,100 assistance campaigns across Brazil — a number formally recognized by the City Council of Barueri, São Paulo, in an official citation.

🩸 2. Blood Donation Campaigns — A National Record

One of the Insanos MC's most impactful initiatives is its organized blood donation drives. In November 2024, the club set a historic national record in Brazil: 9,496 liters of blood donated by members and guests in a single coordinated campaign — the largest donation ever recorded by a single entity in the country's history.

This achievement was only possible because of the club's national scale, with chapters coordinating simultaneously across all Brazilian states toward a single shared goal. The campaign demonstrated that a motorcycle club — powered entirely by volunteers — can mobilize resources at a scale that rivals institutional organizations.

👕 3. Winter Clothing Drives

During the colder months, Insanos MC chapters across Brazil organize clothing donation drives, collecting coats, blankets, sweaters, and shoes for distribution to homeless individuals and low-income families. The club's geographic reach — with chapters in hundreds of Brazilian cities — allows these campaigns to reach municipalities frequently overlooked by larger programs and government initiatives.

🐾 4. Animal Welfare — Pet Food and Veterinary Support

Recognizing that vulnerability affects not only people but also the pets of low-income families, the Insanos MC runs pet food collection campaigns for dogs and cats in need. In certain chapters, such as those in Conselheiro Lafaiete (Minas Gerais state) and Camaçari (Bahia state), partnerships with organizations like GRAD Brasil have expanded the reach of these animal welfare actions significantly.

🧠 5. Mental Health and Suicide Prevention

Beyond material aid, the Insanos MC promotes mental health awareness and suicide prevention campaigns. These initiatives are conducted locally by club chapters, frequently in partnership with public health services and psychosocial support organizations. By leveraging the club's deep community presence, these campaigns bring visibility to a topic that still carries significant social stigma in many Brazilian communities.

♿ 6. Support for People with Disabilities

The Insanos MC also develops actions in support of people with disabilities (PwD), including equipment donations, institutional visits, and inclusion awareness campaigns. In several cities, club members organize visits to rehabilitation centers and specialized care facilities, bringing both material support and human connection to residents who often receive few visitors.

🧒 7. Childcare Centers and Nursing Homes

Visiting community daycare centers and nursing homes is part of the regular social routine of many chapters. Documented actions include delivering geriatric diapers to the São Francisco de Assis Shelter in Camaçari (BA), donating food and toys to the Parque Verde Community Daycare, and organizing recreational activities for children and elderly residents in care facilities.

🛣️ 8. Road Safety Campaigns

In partnership with highway concessionaires and local traffic authorities, select chapters develop road safety education campaigns, promoting awareness among motorcyclists and other drivers about best practices on Brazilian highways. This initiative ties the club's core identity — life on the road — directly to its social mission of protecting lives.

🤝 9. Internal Support Network — Employment and Health

Internally, the club maintains an active support network that functions like a tight-knit mutual aid society. Unemployed members receive community assistance in finding new jobs, and cases of medical need are met with the spirit of brotherhood that defines the club's culture. The club's structured leadership — with dedicated directors for Social, Administrative, Communications, and Operations — ensures these efforts are organized, efficient, and consistent.

National and International Presence

The Insanos MC operates across all 27 Brazilian states and 61 countries, with more than 1,050 regional chapters. This decentralized structure is precisely what allows the club to execute national-scale campaigns simultaneously — as demonstrated by the blood donation record in 2024 and the more than 20,000 social actions carried out in 2025 alone.

The club's National and International Meetings bring together members from different states and countries, reinforcing collective integration and renewing commitment to the social mission that unites them.
